What the heck is ojoche?

 Ojoche (OH-HO-CHay) is the indiginous Nicaraguan name for ramon seed which is a large seed - about the size of an acorn - that is produced by the ojoche tree.

After the drying process is finished, the seeds are packed to go to a facility to be roasted and/or processed. Like coffee, it can be roasted light, medium or dark depending on what flavor is desired.

The roasted seeds are processed into granules much like coffee for steeping/brewing that make a robust brew with notes of chocolate and earth. It can also be made into a fine powder for instant beverages or use in baking and cooking.

Steep the ojoche like tea for 5-10 minutes in a french press, then fix it up just like you would your coffee - black, or with creamer and sweetener
