Ojoche (oh-HO-chey) is a superfood seed that is sustainably wild harvested in Central America. The Mayans steeped and drank ojoche before settlers brought coffee to the Americas. Ojoche contains all of the essential amino acids adding it to the short list of plant-based complete proteins.
Ojoche is rich is calcium, vitamin C, iron, folate, potassium, and magnesium. It also contains vitamin B6 and tryptophan which together synthesize serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps support gut health, regulates sleep, and supports immune function. Drinking ojoche gives you a natural mood and energy boost but contains no caffeine or stimulants. Ojoche is also reviewed by the FDA to be lactogenic and contain no known allergens or toxins and can be consumed by humans of all stages and walks of life.
How to Prepare: Add 1-2 TBS Mayan Moka Mix to 12oz of milk or dairy alternative of your choice. Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes, or even overnight. Drink straight or sweeten with maple syrup or honey. Delicious cold or heated up.
Ojoche is naturally very dense, so by nature it won't dissolve completely into your drink. You can drink it all by shaking the sediment into the liquid as you go, or if you prefer, you can pour off the liquid so you won't have any sediment. The sediment is great prebiotic fiber!
